Any general tips for the toy?
I was really into the Transformers action figures, particularly the series of titanium. But lately I thought, What are the "tricks" to pick up a good toy? And I mean a good toy toys worth much more money in the future. Thanks for your feedback.
My first advice would be to stop spending their money on the Titanium series figures and invest in labor and Takara toy shopping Binaltech. Titanium figures are sold at a low price that you will never see a significant return on investment. You can always find the most toys BigBadToyStore.com, and are sold at a level probably within the range of what they paid for their figures. However, a masterpiece and Binaltech figures have already seen a huge margin in a very short time. For example, the MP-01 Convoy bought at BigBadToyStore.com for $ 109.99 now selling for $ 40 more than this online retailer - but the kicker is it has exhausted its stocks toys. Furthermore, the Starscream I bought for $ 99.99 now selling at $ 144.99 - but again, the toy is sold. Binaltech line has also seen margins similar. It's all about supply and demand. Welding titanium colors can show you something. Even if you do the welding of titanium, there is a cool trick, where the colors to help the titanium welding test quality of the gas torch. Stay with me here and learn the trick.
Discoloration of titanium in the heat of welding is caused by oxidation and different colors are due to variations in the thickness of the oxide layers.
The cool thing about colored titanium welding is its predictability. In other words, we can determine what the temperature reaches titanium metal when exposed to oxygen in the atmosphere.
The colors blue, purple, green, gray and white, all come gradually to higher temperatures.
There are also some intermediate colors, and here is the progress ..
The first titanium welding straw color, then brown, blue, purple, blue, green and blue, salmon pink, dull, gray and white rust.
Some codes actually allow blue coloring, but the best practice is to weld titanium pre discoloring beyond the color of straw.
Many times the welds Titanium is very essential to maintain higher standards than the minimum allowed by the code.
But as I said before, even if you do not need welding of titanium, can use this information to test the shielding gas TIG torch out of.
Titanium begins to fade at about 500 degrees hotter it gets F. without being protected by an inert gas like argon, it oxidizes and changes color from straw and rust finishes in white chalk.
But when it is protected by argon until it cools below 500 degrees F, titanium and silver will be bright, even when heated above its point of fusion is approximately 3135 F depending on the alloy grade.
What this means for you is that you can test your Thea shielding gas TIG torch simply making a puddle walk to cool, then evaluate discolored titanium metal.
Here's how ...
Set the welding machine TIG about 50 amps for welding titanium. Post your power shield Set timer to 15 seconds. Keep your TIG torch to a nut death angle 90 degrees titanium tube and light up. Create a pool of water about 1 / 4 "to 3 / 8", maintain the arc as short as the diameter of the tungsten used and live for about 7 seconds. Thy pedal amperage control and keep the torch to the welding zone completely cooled and heated ...
